Jazmin Gilliard is a Bronx Native full spectrum doula, reiki practitioner, placenta encapsulator, activist, and intuitive. She has over 10 years of childcare experience which serves as an extension of her postpartum work, and has about 8 years of healthcare experience. She uses her knowledge of healthcare and alternative healing modalities to bridge the gaps between the communities and the systems we navigate. As a doula, her goals are to empower people to own their inner power and positively influence their outcomes. This is her life's mission to support and create nurturing environments for all of life's transitions. She completed her bachelor's degree in the intersections of Women & Gender Studies, Africana Studies, and Healthcare. She aims to become a midwife to continue serving her communities.
My experience with Jazmin as my doula was great! She made sure to take the time out of her very busy schedule to check up on me and get to know me and what my birth plans looked like. She also made it a point to be my biggest supporter in the delivery room. At times when I felt like I couldn’t advocate for myself in the delivery room Jazmin was front and center making sure what I wanted was being heard and followed through. She was there to hold my hand and show me different techniques and positions to make me feel comfortable. I really hope she is around when I plan my next baby because she is the best! -Alexis W.

"We worked with Jaz as a postpartum doula. She brought such warmth, calm, and practicality into our home — exactly what we needed in those early, chaotic weeks. Jaz supported our family with true flexibility and a “how can I help?” attitude. Every visit started with her asking what the goals were for that day, whether it was helping the baby learn to take a bottle, doing the dishes, or spending time with our toddler. Nothing was off-limits, and she was incredibly respectful and affirming of whatever needs I had on a given day. What stood out most about Jaz was her nonjudgmental, nurturing presence. She’s the kind of person you feel totally comfortable having in your home — someone who adds value simply by being there and tuning into what the family needs. If you’re looking for someone who can provide grounded, adaptable, heart-centered support during the postpartum period, Jaz is it. We felt so lucky to have her as part of our village during that critical time." -Elisa
