My name is Nina (she/they) I am a Dominican-American full spectrum doula and birth educator currently in Ridgewood, Queens. I have been a doula for 6 years: attending births since August 2018! I have a bachelors in Public Health from CUNY Brooklyn College and intend on becoming a nurse practitioner focusing on maternal mortality and birth outcomes in the US and Canada. I am a lactation counselor, and primarily a postpartum doula working daytime and evening shifts. I also provide birth education virtually. My talents focus in helping marginalized birthing parents within the Black and Latino communities, LGBT parents of any background, single parents by choice or by circumstance, and being a solid point of contact during the stage from birth to 12 weeks. Birth Doula Services
Nina was my doula from the very beginning and I still feel lucky I found them. I was worried about finding a doula for several reasons, a major one being that I'm nonbinary and it was important for me to find someone that would not only respect my identity but accept it. Nina was beyond affirming and validating, and an incredible source of information and comfort. When my pregnancy turned out to be high risk. Nina was encouraging and centered my needs, never making me doubt myself about any decisions I made. I felt truly grounded and would message them when I had questions or anxieties about my pregnancy. I don't think I would've asked another doula to be present at my child's birth, simply because I don't think I could've found another doula like Nina.
